From cultivation to production to sale – our commitment to excellence is second to none

Our certificates demonstrate what else, apart from the finest ingredients, quality and exquisite craftsmanship, contributes to the pure enjoyment of our chocolate specialities.

We care deeply about the environment and our resources. Our aim is always to use fair and sustainable raw materials, and we are committed to using renewable energy. Quality assurance certificates provide both us and you with a guarantee: we work to excellent quality standards in our ChocoManufaktur.

Rainforest Alliance-certified

We also use Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa in our chocolate. The Rainforest Alliance (formerly UTZ) works at both a social and market-based level to create a more sustainable world, with the aim of protecting nature and improving the lives of agricultural and forestry producers. The sustainable use of raw materials is a priority for us and our customers. We are aware that the cocoa used in our chocolate creations comes from countries with less stringent nature conservation regulations. With the Rainforest Alliance, we – and you – can be assured that a product meets the strict requirements of the quality label.

Renewable energy

Heating: For heating, we first utilise the radiant heat from machinery and equipment. If this is insufficient, heat is recovered from the direct machine cooling system, in particular from the chillers and heat pumps, which feed the heat into the heating distribution network. Only if further heat is required do heat pumps using groundwater supply additional heating energy. The two chillers are used for both cooling and heat recovery.

Cooling: The cooling of production areas, as well as the air cooling of the ventilation systems, is achieved using free cooling directly from groundwater without a refrigeration unit. Machine cooling takes place at a lower level via two chillers. The waste heat from the chillers is utilised whenever there is a demand for heat anywhere in the building. Only when there is no demand for heat is the surplus heat discharged into the environment via a recooler on the roof.
